Little Sammy Sneeze by Winsor McCay (0860-) 1st Appearance 1904 - Winsor McCay created a number of charming early strips before his masterpiece Little Nemo in Slumberland. Little Sammy Sneeze is the most well-known of those early offerings. Little Sammy Sneeze was a weekly gag strip which featured Sammy sneezing loudly at the most unfortunate times. The humor would stray into the reckless, Sammy sneezes would take on superhuman proportions in many cases. The artwork was typical of McCay in that it was wonderfully detailed, but it lacks the panoramic excitement of his later larger Nemo pages. The market for Little Sammy Sneeze is strong as is the case with anything done by Winsor McCay. They run at a high premium, collectors will usually choose based on specific strip content and appearance. | ||||
