Strange As It Seems by John Hix  (1360-) - The explosion in popularity of Ripley's Believe it or Not in the 1930's gave impetus for copycats.  On of the longest running of those was Strange as it seems created by John Hix.    Interconnected images and cross-connected single panels would inform the reader of some of the natural oddities and coincidences that exist or existed in real life.    Like 'Believe it or Not'  the topics would range from scientific to paranormal, with a splash of human and political.   The byline of the strip would travel within the Hix family members, from John to Ernest to Elsie, as they either tired or retired from the work.    The quality of the strip stayed consistent throughout.   The market for Strange as it seems is moderate.   Since there were no multi-week connections within the topics, collectors largely look for lots.   Premium strips are relegated to the full-size pages that were sporadically produced in the 1930s when the strip would often appear in the magazine section of the sunday paper.
