| The Passing Show (1080-) by Billy Ireland - The Front Page of the Columbus Dispatch Magazine section in the 1920-30's contained a big beautiful multi-frame feature called the Passing Show. Each of the panels of the weekly strip would feature a new development in either fashion, politics or local goings-on. The artwork is big, clean and neat which provides exceptional eye-appeal. The subjects are quite interesting especially the insights on common life. Although many staff artists worked on the Passing Show, the most prolific was Billy Ireland. Ireland gained so much recognition for his work that Ohio State University honored him by naming their Cartoon Library and Museum after him. The market for Passing Show pages is good. Serious collectors don't let these sit unsold for very long. | ||||
