Charlie Chan by Alfred Andriola (0290-) - Al Andriola adapted the famous Chinese investigator Charlie Chan to comics in 1938. Andriola is known as one of the greatest of american cartoonists who would later lend his great talents to the creation of Kerry Drake. For Charlie Chan's sedentary approach to criminal investigation in other mediums, in the comics there was plenty of action. That action came from Andriolas great story-lines. The artwork was also clean sharp and appealing as was always the case with Andriola work. The Charlie Chan run was short and sweet making the strip a premium strip on the secondary market. Add in the clique popularity of the main character and you have the recipe for a hot-selling title. Runs of Sundays are becoming uncommon, more and more these are offered as single strips. Those Sundays usually were never larger than Half-page size. Dailies are downright scarce and are an immediate sell at high premium. | ||||
